Confessions of a soldier.

Have you ever been alone and questioned the meaning of life if so keep reading? I think there has been movies done and books written and tapes recorded about what people believe the meaning of life is but can we really know what the meaning of life is without experiencing a part of that meaning? When I consider my own humanity it brings me into the presence of God namely Jesus Christ. To have a true life encounter with the Lord is something that not many people experience this side of eternity. In fact I would be Just in saying if you've never had a true encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ the moment when you die it might be too late. Seeing that this life is relatively short and we do not know when this life will end, how much more important it is For us to encounter a truth that will set us free from the bondage of loneliness and self recrimination. There have been many stories and people who have try to accomplish great things in life but in the end what did they fail to achieve? I would say this is the true purpose and meaning in life when we reach the end of our lives we need to feel that there has been something that we have gained from our exile so to speak. I would contend that this is the meaning of life.

Life can sometimes bring us to points of deep desperation and loneliness but when we look not to our own strength but to the strength that God provides we are opening a door for Christ to come in and live in our hearts. When we feel pressure and pain from circumstances around us most of us who are Christians can turn to prayer but even if you're not a Christian yet you can still ask the Lord to save you. The mission of the church is not too perfect people but to bring the lost into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or an encounter with the true and living God. Most of you who I'm speaking to have a fairly good background in church are going to church. Maybe you've heard about people becoming born-again and you still think that's kind of a funny concept and you've never experienced that in your own life. Some churches will tell you that you need to be baptized and except Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior but it's not the words or the sacrament that saves you it is in fact the testimony that Jesus Christ is Lord and that you're willing to surrender your life to him freely and willingly.

It is never too late to ask the Lord to save you or to have a true encounter with the living God. The church that you go to might not be able to provide this experience for you but becoming born-again is more than a baptismal or personal experience it is deeply theological and deeply meaningful. I'm not talking about Universalism here were everyone gets a free ticket to heaven what I'm talking about is having a personal relationship with the living Christ to indwells every true born-again Christian. When we are tired when we are Worn we feel we have no means to accomplish the tasks that are set before us, when our hearts are broken and we feel that there is nothing else that can save us Christ expresses himself to the poor and to the broken so if you need a touch from the Lord from God come in human flesh, certainly ask him to come into your heart and into your life today. There is no better day than today.

On Christian Marriage. (Short)

On Christian Marriage. (Short) The modern co-habitation crisis has produced a lot of single moms and dads, and has fractured "family units" allowing other family members and relatives to take a bigger role in these "Separated families." There isn't a "one cause" why families have separated or divorced, it is a complicated issue, sometimes resulting in very hard emotions for Society to process. Things like the "millennial sexual revolution" have contributed to the widespread "non-committal" attitude, which in turn has given the traditional marriage the "black eye" it currently has and has turned many Christian men away from seeking a life partner. The more society devalues "traditional marriage" the more co-habitation you will see in all the other generations as well as the Millennials. This is Mike.

Why Christians must show Mutual Concern for One another.

Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life. Psalm 142:4. Christians in the church should have mutual concern for one another, this is what it means to be part of the body of Christ, 1 Corinthians 12:25. It’s takes good pastoral leadership to foster this sense of concern, and where it is missing, individuals who are suffering in the church are overlooked and not supported. Every believer needs support and encouragement, but when this is missing, the church divides and loses it power and testimony. Christians live like the world, and become vulnerable to Satan’s attacks when nobody is supporting them outside the church. I used to belong to an evangelical church which had great leadership, and something called small groups. This church felt like a family and I had people who shared my Christian walk with me when I was not in the church building. I have been attending a different denomination that doesn’t hav...

The Biblical Meaning of “Life in the Spirit.”

“Life in the Spirit” is an example that the Apostle Paul gives in the book of Romans starting in chapter 5 and going through to chapter 8. He begins by telling us we are justified by faith (5:1), and have gained access by faith into the grace of God (5:2). We have been delivered from God’s wrath (5:9) and we have been reconciled to God through the death of His Son (5:10). He goes on to explain that through Adam all die (5:12), and that the free Gift of God brings justification and righteousness to the believing sinner (5:15-17).   Through our conversion we are baptized into Christ and into his death, which frees us from the law and makes us dead to sin (6:2-4). He explains that just as Christ was raised from the dead, we are given new life in Christ (6:4). Our old unregenerate self was crucified with Christ so that our body of sin might be done away with (6:5-6). Because we have died to sin, we now submit ourselves to God being that we are now under grace, not the law (6:8-1...
