Love is the Greatest.

Love is the Greatest. God gives many different commandments in the bible, but the greatest commandment the Lord gave was to love. In first Corinthians 13 we read "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 | NASB. The bible is synchronistic meaning that it completes itself. It works in harmony the old and New Testament and although some might say certain verses contradict themselves, it all works in harmony with itself! However, when the bible says that love is the greatest, it means that love is the greatest. The bible is God's word to humanity and we will be judged by it. It describes how we can have a relationship with God, and how our sins can be forgiven. By choosing to accept what it teaches, most importantly what the bible says about Jesus Christ, we can learn what i

The Free Gift of Salvation.

Would you be Ready? If the world was going to end today, would you be ready? History is leading up to one Point, and that is the second coming of Jesus Christ. Not many in the world today know this, but this is because most of the world forgot it. There are many in the world who don't know Jesus personally, and this is what is required to believe in Him in order to be prepared for the end of the world and His second coming. In the book of Acts after the resurrection of Jesus, he ascended back into Heaven and this is what it says; "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while the

Their sin Against God's glorious Presence. Isaiah 3:1-26

Their sin Against God's glorious Presence. Isaiah 3:1-26 In the book of Isaiah Jerusalem and Judah were being judged because of various reasons. God pronounces judgement in verses 1-5 saying "He is about to take both supply and support" because of the unbeliever's sin. He says He is going to remove all supplies of food and all supplies of water, the hero and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the councelor, skilled craftsman and clever enchanter. God through Isaiah says He will make youths their officials and children will rule over them! People will oppress each other, man against man, neighbor against neighbor, the young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored. If you read the entire chapter you will see that it is God who is judging them because of their sins! In verse 8 God is fighting with them saying "Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling" then God gives o

Fighting the Temptation to sin in Quarantine.

Fighting the temptation to Sin in Quarantine. You would think that because most of the world is in lockdown because of obvious reasons, that the urge to sin would be less. I have found this to be not so. We are sinners by nature, and resisting the urge to sin is very much a reality than if it weren't so. When you live in isolation, the urge can be to spend too much time with yourself meaning your thoughts, and not reaching out to others when it is possible. We can forget that God gave us a soul, so doing things that remind us of that is vitally important. You might feel dry in your spiritual life if you are a religious person, and not being able to access things like a synagogue or a church can be very frustrating for religious people. Our place of worship is the common place where most of us feel forgiven, and feel a connection to God and other worshippers, so not having that right now can create a sense of religious cabin fever. Over my life, I have always found solace and as

Finding God.

Finding God. Remembering God through distressful times can be very difficult, but it is essential for some people. It can give you a sense of assurance that we are not in this alone, and it can take the burden off ourselves, thinking that we've got to figure this all out by ourselves! Living life or the next life for ourselves creates a sense of frustration because we are forgetting our Creator in the process. Light comes back into our lives, the moment we let it back in. We all would be much happier if we stopped suppressing what can only give our hearts lasting joy, and leave the big problems like "how am I going to make it through this?" to the One who knows us, and wants to heal us. When we reject the light, it is taken away from us, sometimes never to return! Before that happens to each one of us, we must remember what gives us love and life, and what gives us joy and happiness! For me, this is God. God is not a feeling, He can be found by anyone who seeks Him. Y

Remembering my Grandmother.

Remembering my grandmother. I always loved the drive to London Ontario from Toronto when I was a kid. We would play fun games in the car, in an age without cell phones and the Internet. I remember always looking out the car window, and looking at the clouds as I would see the clouds literally tell a story and see images and people in the clouds! "Look mom, I see a Lion in the clouds, do you see it?" They would look, my parents and brother, and someone would say "yes I see it too!" Then the cloud would slowly melt away, and the image in the sky would either dissolve or change into something else. "Oh, now look the Lion is changing into a person!" You get the idea. Then there was always the question "are we there yet?" From Toronto to London was a two hour drive, and my father would create patience in us by timing the trips for us by answering "just two more episodes of such and such a show." We didn't have a tv in the car, we had

Human intelligence and God.

Human intelligence and God. Human intelligence is woefully insufficient to understand who or what God is. Human intelligence is the anti-thesis of faith because it needs sufficient proof of God's existence before it can express that faith. The mind doesn't get redeemed when one becomes a Christian, we are given a new mind, the mind of Christ. "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16 | NASB. The human intellect is fallible, and so is our reason and this is why we are required to have faith to please God. God gave us intelligence and a mind, not to frustrate his redemption plan, the mind is neutral and can be used for good or evil. On judgement Day, we will be judged on how we used our minds and intelligence. God's purpose for giving us a mind was so that we could use our faculties to worship Him and glorify Him. The mind is neutral and like our souls, should be used to glorify God. T

The Second Coming.

Happy Easter! Why the church isn't Ready for the 2nd Coming of Christ. Yes, it is called the Blessed hope of all true born again believers in Christ, and it is my opinion that the church isn't ready for that day. Why, when all throughout the centuries the church in it's creeds and dogmas has been heralding the immanent return of her Lord and Saviour! Why, 2000 years after Christ died for our sins is the church unprepared? I don't know exactly, there could be many reasons why the church has apostatized. In  2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 it says: 1 "Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son

Holy Thursday.

Holy Thursday. I had a remarkable experience after attending an evangelical church for a long time, and then returning to the Catholic Church that I grew up attending. While I was evangelical, most of my time was spent serving other people. I experienced burn out quite often, so coming back to the Catholic Church and being served, took me a while to adjust to. One of the moments that stood out for me was Easter 2016, in fact it was Holy Thursday. Being away from the Catholic Church for so long, I had no recollection of the tradition we do on Holy Thursday. I was seated near the choir with my mom and dad, when all the priests took off their vestments and began to address us saying they were about to wash our feet. I got excited because I was used to being in a church where we served the leaders, but I was there just witnessing a huge sign of humility. The Priests were just about to serve us! I began to prepare myself to walk down the isle of the church, which I did when it was my tu

Why Online Church won't work in the Long run.

Why Online Church won't work in the Long run. People were designed to meet with each other, to shake hands, and to break bread. Of course with our new social distancing rules we won't be able to do this until this virus passes. Churches have gotten involved with online streaming services even before this crisis, but putting our crisis aside right now and make believing we have gotten through it, I want to talk about why church should limit it's use of technology. Of course technology can enhance our lives, but we are talking about God here. God doesn't need technology like us humans because he is Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent. He doesn't need to enhance himself like the way we do, so you ask me "is God against technology in church?" To answer this question I need to ask you a question. How do you communicate with a divine Being? Prayer right? Do you need some kind of intermediate device to communicate with God? The answer is no. If God is her

The Gospel and Human Goodness.

Human Goodness. Human goodness isn't the path to peace. We all like to think of ourselves as good people, but the way we were born into this world disqualifies us for Heaven. There is nothing good in our natures even after we repent, we need to understand that humans are born sinful and we die sinful, other than the Grace of God, there is nothing in our natures that can redeem us. Those who make it to Heaven do so not because they were saints, relying on good works, they made it there because of the Grace of God. The reason why he rejects human goodness is because by our human natures we are incredibly unholy to God. To rely on your own sanctity only will bring God's further judgement to you. Jesus was the only sinless person, and we are saved by him and his sacrifice. Our belief in this alone gives us his righteousness, but the moment we think we are holy in our own natures is a mistake. We can trust God and his goodness. I'm not saying humans can't try to be good,

We have Forgotten the Golden Rule!

We have Forgotten the Golden Rule. Jesus taught us to do unto others as you would have done unto you! You don't have to be a Christian to understand this. The golden rule was meant for all of humanity. It was a principle that we used to run our lives by. We used to keep in our minds that there will be a judgment day, and humans used to live their lives with this in mind. Over the past 20 years or so, our society has forgotten God, and deconstructed western morality. Our once Christian society has been replaced with atheism and paganism, and for generations what once used to be a God fearing nation has been overthrown. It seems that most people don't care anymore about this, or about heaven and hell, and are refusing to acknowledge or believe in the basic fundamentals of our ancestors. Even now, people are content to live how they seem fit, but this goes against the fundamental doctrine of God's justice. God's justice says that we will be repaid for all eternity base

Why Fear isn't a part of God's Plan.

Why Fear isn't a part of God's Plan. Jesus told us in Matthew 16:25-27 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. To have a natural fear to danger is a natural response, but to have an inordinate fear about anything is sin. Jesus in these verses is teaching that we shouldn't value our lives to the point that we love ourselves more than death, and more than going to Heaven. He taught that if we value saving our lives more than going to Heaven, then we prove that we are not willing to love God with our very lives, and even giving our lives for the sake of Jesus. What does it profit man, if he gains the world, but forfeits his soul?

Look for Hope!

Look for Hope! In times of crisis it is always important to look for signs of hope. It is very tempting to give up hope when you see nothing around you changing. I'm a firm believer that when you feel like you have been abandoned or are in despair try to look for signs of hope. We might feel desperately alone, that no one is hearing our cries, that God is being cruel and is justified in bringing us so much pain, but we mustn't lose hope. Even if you feel oppressed, like God has forsaken you, you still have the right to hope. We are human beings and we need hope, we are like the sunshine. We can't live without feeling that someday maybe even now, our burdens will be lifted, and the light will shine through. With so much going on we can get lost in feeling that God has been cruel and unfair to us. You may not believe in God anymore, but that doesn't mean you have to give up hope. This life will not last forever and we have to be ready to truly live, not die. I remembe
