Why a new social Convention?
Social convention was a word we used to use before social distancing. The conventions of our society used to be lived out with an awareness that God is present with us, so we shouldn't do anything to piss Him off. I'm not saying when this changed, but it definitely shifted over the past 20 years. Slowly we forgot our responsibility towards God and our neighbours and this brought God's judgment in our society. We have lost a lot of common sense and freedom by pushing God out from our society. However, I believe this can be reversed if enough good people want to experience living with the real awareness that God is directing our lives again. But in order to do this we need to start doing things differently. We need to change the way we see God.
The church has a distorted view of the Sovereignty of God, feeling that He no longer judges sin. The church has drifted so far, that they don't see the real need for forgiveness anymore. They are content to stay away from church for very long times, and they have lost the experience of holiness. They are more concerned about going to Heaven, then living the way God intended us to live in order to get there. They have forgot the meaning of grace, and that we are not to abuse God's grace. Grace and salvation are free gifts, but when something is free in our society today, it is usually taken advantage of.
We can not mock God, what we sow, we reap. The church likes to think they can hide from God. Ya right. The Bible says God cannot be mocked. We also feel that we don't need each other, denying the real teachings of Jesus. In my life, God was involved in everything, every aspect of our lives. This has changed and the church needs to be the first to repent of this. God gives us everything, and we can't even breathe without his help. To social distance ourselves from God is essentially our own demise. God sees how we are treating one another in this crisis and He is wanting us to show compassion not brutality. We as a society have forgotten about Judgment Day, and yes, somethings are beyond our control, but pushing God away, when He is the only one that can help us is a mistake, but this is the new social convention. This is Mike.
