A Loaded gun.

Spring forward, fall back. We all know what it is like to have our clocks rearranged, but when it comes to the stuff of life we all prefer things to stay the same. There is a time of birth and there is a time of death, and it's the stuff in between that really drives the human race clearly insane. When we were children we thought like children, but the problem is that when we reach a certain age we are supposed to act like adults, but have you had a definite moment in your life when you realised that things were not fixed, like a prize fighter there are things in life still worth fighting for. Not many of us realise that just beyond our horizon lies a dream fulfilled, an accomplishment gained, a victory attained, and a battle to win. We live our lives under a fog a self deception, that leaves no room for growth, that leaves no room for maturity, and definitely kills spontaneity. There are two ways to look at your life. One, it's just a series of random events left to chance...

Fueling the fire of an Angst Generation.

OK, here is the keys to the country, be home at ten and don't forget to turn the lights out in Saskatchewan. This is essentially what the Conservative government in Canada did yesterday in creating a budget that was very close to austere measures, and I'm feeling the pain this morning. It's like we've been out partying with our much older brother for 38 years and when he brings us home in an altered state of consciousness he tells us he's moving the ranch and running off with the girl down the street to Texas. Thanks bro. The torch has been passed to the angst generation, and part of growing up is learning to live with the mistakes of our parents and grandparents, but when it comes to a country can our generation make it work for the long haul? Socialist, neo-conservatives, far right, far left, let us take inspiration from a great Beatle, "Come together, right now!" The Baby Boomers have left the building. I think it would be good if we all met in our ...

The Roaming Zionist.

Yes, it is true, I love Israel and I love Israelis. If I could be born again, I would be born a Jew. I love the fact that we have choices to make in life, and if some of those choices reflect the times we live in I would love to live in a country that resembles the country of Israel. Westerners take pride in their democracy and love to make rules and laws that may or may not reflect the heart of G_d. You might be wondering why I feel so strongly about the Jewish people and why I love them? I love them because they are G_d's people. Like you and me, we were created in the image of the Almighty, and what G_d loves, no I am not God..I love. They say that God is love but I believe that he is allot more than that. We belong to G_d and the Jewish people belonged to God way before me. I can not understand how anybody can hate the people who revealed G_d to humanity, but I do understand that if you hate, you are not close to God. You hate because you hate God and you hate Jews because th...

Going under the needle.

Last month I was given a blood requisition form by my doctor/psychiatrist for certain medications I am on. The problem is that I have to fast 12 hours, so the suggestion goes; if you go to bed at 11pm and wake up, at 11am that's a twelve hour fast. Just make your way over to the hospital and get your blood work done. But the problem is that I suffer from insomnia...not joking. I don't have a problem going to sleep it's just that I usually don't get to bed until 12am or 1am, and I wake up feeling like I've been through a war, not like I've had a good night sleep. The last thing I want at this point is for strangers to poke a hole in my skin and draw blood making me feel even weaker than I do when I wake up. It usually takes me several hours after I wake up to feel normal enough to start my day. Yes there are natural stimulants that I use to help in this process, but I woke up this morning to the resolve that I would make today the day I would get my blood work do...

If we love?

You might not want to read this post, we are living in the 21st century and most of us have forgotten the word love. I have forgotten. I have forgotten many things, or have we all forgotten what love is? I'm not out to bash you over the head with religious dogma, nor am I out to acquire something that you cannot give me, but I never want to forget that humanity can be something that it has never been before. I'm talking about you and me. There once was a time when things were easy, that time wasn't too long ago. We were stuck in concern for the person across the street, the person in our church, the persons in our home. But we lost something in all of our efforts to better myself we have lost compassion. Progress means to go forward but how do we go forward when we don't even know who we are and what we were made to become? This isn't a trick question. My guess is that you are happy with your life. I used to be happy but my happiness was something that I took for ...

When the world tells you your out.

Despite popular opinion to the contrary, what brings a person happiness depends on who you are and where you are. You could be in an airport, all the signs say this way to Alabama, people are going to Alabama, they are following the signs. Some are walking to the exit gate, some are running. Some stop for a nice snack or a meal along the way in an airport restaurant, some busily run to the gate with all their belongings forgetting that the have forgotten their tickets at home. Everyone wants to go there, but only some actually end up there. How is that possible? Ask the porter at the door: Jane: "Dear Porter, I have all this luggage that I need to be delivered to terminal two...I am going to Alabama!" Porter: "Yes mam, sure thing, but there is something you should know. There are no flights heading out of this air port going to Alabama tonight. They are all cancelled." Jane: "Yes, but don't you see I have family there. And they are expecting me. Surely ...

Five hoodies and a Bus stop.

There once was a man who loved to wear his hoodie while waiting for the bus. However the bus would always come late, so he would tie his hoodie really tight around his face. One day a lady came up to him and said "you know man, you look pretty funny with that hood around your face. What would your mom say if she saw you looking so foolish?" The man replied "My mom bought this hoodie for me, and I think she would be perfectly happy if she knew I was happy wearing it the way I pleased.." The woman looked at him sarcastically, and said "If I had a son like you, who enjoyed looking so funny I don't think that I would be proud of him!" The man looked at her with a cheeky grin and said "Mom is that you?"
