Don't Grow weary with Well doing.

In the bible, Galatians 6:9 says:  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. For me, this is the time of the Christmas season where I begin to look at other people and how they have offended me this past year. Clearly a tactic that the devil will try to use, to get me in offense. When I start to blame other people for things that I don't have control over, it leaves me feeling frustrated and angry. It is true that we must set boundaries for ourselves, if someone has hurt us or is continually hurting us emotionally, we need to detach ourselves from that person or people and find a community that is more accepting and healthy.  This past year, I spent away from a particular church because they crossed my boundaries in 2016. As a human being, there are things that you have, that I really don't let other people access to. One of those things is my mind. When you attend a bible believing church, you have to be care

When you are feeling Blue.

Sometimes in life, we are faced with situations that seem to be out of our control. There are many things in life that are unpleasant, but I have found that there is freedom in facing our problems instead of running away from them. We live in an instant society and when we are faced with distress we want instant relief from our painful emotions. In the parable of the prodigal son in the bible, after the younger son's return home the elder son cannot deal with the reality that his disenfranchised brother is welcomed back into the family. He refuses to participate in the reality, (which is actually the eldest son's reality as much as it is everyone's else's) to take part in a party that the father chose to throw for his son who returned. Much pain in our life is the result of our refusal and resistance to accept reality as it really is. When we are faced with hardships in life that are the result of our own choices, some people try to deny that their reality is actually

The Catholic Mass, for the Lonely too.

I find myself writing this during the Christmas season of 2017, and just got back from a mass earlier this evening. I read a good book this year and I gleaned some wisdom in regards to the Catholic mass, which I have been practicing. More than just a celebration, it is a uniting of those of us who share the same faith. Without getting too theological, what we celebrate in the mass in the breaking of bread, is a deep communion with each other and with God. God manifested as the Son, is offered for humanity as we partake of his divinity and enter into the mystery of Christ each time we all celebrate the Eucharist. Christ's blood shed for us, which ratified the new covenant without which we are not forgiven, is enter upon new. When we consume the elements, and partake in the liturgy, a great mystery is entered into by faith. Christ's life is shared with us, as he calls sinners and saints to the communion table. More than just symbolic, the divine presence and essence is made alive

Consuming the Word of God in the Eucharist.

When Christians talk about consuming the word of God as food, there is no greater apologetic as a Catholic to talk about the Eucharist. As Catholics, we believe that Christ is present in the Eucharist that it actually becomes the body and blood of Jesus. In the Bible Christ is described as the word of God ; " The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14 NIV. The word of God is present among us when we consume the Eucharistic meal, more so than in any other part of the Mass. When we consume Christ, the Living Word, we partake in His Divine Nature. At conversion, we become more united to Jesus through repentance and faith, but it is in the sharing in the life of the church that we can experience Christ more fully.  At Baptism we enter into a more perfect union with Christ, but in the sharing of communion or the Eucharist we consume the body of Chri

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

In the bible Jesus is described as the light that has come into the world, however we are also described as lights. Why is light important? It is important because without it we can not see, when Jesus is described as light it is referring to Him as the Logos, or the word of God (John 1:1 NIV) Jesus as the word of God gives light to mankind through his life, death, and resurrection and the bible promises that those who become born again by believing on His name, will have eternal life. The reason why he is refereed to as the word of God is because his nature is truth, and Jesus in his incarnation on earth was full of grace and truth, (John 1:14 NIV) " The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus can be referred to as the word of God  because he was sinless, (1 John 3:5 NIV) " But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And

Christian, My Sanctification in a Hospital bed.

In 1999 I went into crisis. I was experiencing a mental illness for the first time in my life and I felt like I was dying. I had been exposed to mental illness before with family, but this was happening to me and my pride was being deeply cut down. I write about my story in a book called "Hearts Linked by Courage" by the Canadian Mental Health Association available in Canada, so I don't want to go into to many details here that I talked about in my story. Some time ago I read a story of a christian who was very sick, and wondering how God would use them now that they were confined to a hospital bed. The conclusion was that in that very bed that they were put by God, she still had a mind and she still had the holy spirit. How could she work out her sanctification and salvation, (Philippians 2:12 NIV) " Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and tremb

The Chatterbox of the mind.

I don't know if you have been there, it's 6:58a m and you woke from a restless sleep only to turn on christian television and still there is no relief. Most of the problems we face in life we like to blame others for, and in a very real sense others are to blame for their lack of love and compassion. I saw the movie "the circle" when it came out, and all it just showed was that everybody is connected. Weither you like it or not, we need each other as human beings. When you have faith, you can see that others don't, and this can bring to you a sense of discouragement especially if you belong to a church and you feel terribly alone.  I have experienced being a part of many churches that claimed to know Christ, but these people were so ruthless that if Christ appeared to them in their church they wouldn't recognize him. I believe these people have a sincere love for the bible and this is why it is good to be a part of these bible churches, because you will

Living in an age of Rebellion.

What constitutes wickedness. The psalms are clear about the fate of the wicked if they don't turn from the wickedness and repent. I have been reading a lot of the bible on this topic of righteousness and wickedness, not that by chance I want to become wicked but because I see a lot of wickedness around me and I want to make sense of my world, and the way I do that is though the Bible. For some of you who are unbelievers, you might be wondering why I seem to be obsessed about this topic? You might think that my obsession of going to Heaven is a little absurd, but I can assure you that the holy spirit lives in my heart, and it is my desire to be counted as one of the faithful on the Last Day. I can assure you that I will not try to convince you against your will that there is a God, an afterlife, Jesus Christ, and that the bible is real. I can assure you that if it is your will to know more about God, then you have come to the right place in reading this blog entry. God is a spirit

A Sabbath rest is Needed more than ever, In Today's World.

Sabbath rest, what is it? It is when by faith we enter into God's rest as described see Hebrews 4; Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.   2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. a 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” b And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world.  4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” c   5 And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.” 6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in b

How people get to Heaven?

I was thinking about this question yesterday after I came home from church. I was feeling frustrated that earlier in the day. this answer seemed to come to me though the bible, but when I went to church it just clouded my answer. To answer this question, we must turn to the bible. in particular a Gideon Bible.  https://www2.gideons.org/become-a-christian  The following link explains how to become a Christian, I will copy and paste it here, but providing a link could be easier, although it might be disabled! We sometimes think that it is impossible to understand God's salvation plan, we need visions of Heaven or visions of Hell to make us feel extra spiritual. We need to attend church every Sunday, tithe ten percent of our income, attend small group or some kind of bible study plan, when in fact all God asks of us is to believe, then after we believe to keep on believing. In case you were wondering, the Gideon's bibles are the bibles that are found in hotel rooms. I think the

James MacDonald stepping Down From Harvest Bible Fellowship?

I used to be a member of a Harvest Bible Chapel where I live in York Region. I had grown up Catholic, and became a born again Christian outside the Catholic church in 1995. I continued to attend the Catholic church, because I felt that my "conversion" was authentic and I didn't know enough about Bible doctrine, however I understood who Jesus was and for the first time in my life, I knew I had a real faith in the risen Lord. I understood that Jesus is God, and I understood that I had became alive spiritually. On my faith journey, I have come to understand that righteousness is given to us by God, but as a born again Christian I also came to understand eventually that my faith alone is  not enough for justification and that is not what I believe now. I do believe that the bible is God's instructions for salvation, but I do believe that all humans will be judged by their works on the Last Day. I have come to distrust the evangelical doctrine that our justification "

Israel's Role in the Economy of Salvation. Christian.

It would be anti-Semitic to believe that Israel's has no role in the Christian faith. It is my belief that the God of the Christians and the God of the Hebrews is in fact the same God. I believe the Old Testament was ratified in the New Testament by the blood of the Saviour of Jews and Greeks Jesus Christ the Lord.  Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)—   12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.   13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,  15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulatio

The Awkward Saint, by Mike Finnerty.

There once was an awkward saint. This saint dearly loved the Lord, and dearly loved his church. One day while he was serving the communion trays in his church he accidentally stumbled and fell on his shoe laces, and spilt the elements on the floor. Being a kind man, he was deeply embarrassed as everyone in the church had seen it happen! After the service was over the Pastors and elders called him into his office to see what had happened, because they were distracted and didn't see how he fell. The saint said "My fellow brothers, I tripped on my shoes and couldn't recover. I deeply apologize for any misconduct or mistake that I comm itted and I will try to be more mindful next time." The leaders agreed, and let him go with a warning. The next weekend the awkward saint was making coffee for the church members, and dropped a glass canister full of coffee on the floor. Just then, the Pastor walked in and slipped on the coffee and broke his collar bone! Again, the sai

What is Congregational Salvation?

You might be wondering if such a concept exist? For the purpose of this entry, I will discuss only the Christian religion and no particular denomination. We know that most of the letters in the New Testament were written to real churches that existed at that time. The bible teaches that each individual must repent and believe to become a Christian, and Baptism in most churches is entry into the congregation life of that church. Nowhere in the bible will you find the erroneous concept of Universal of Congregational salvation. Yes, it is true that part of the Christian profession of faith is the declaration of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and he is the head of the church. However upon entering the church, you are entering as an individual that is now part of the body of Christ's indivisible Body namely the church. For congregational worship to work, you still retain your freedom and individuality as a saved person. When you hear in the bible of the church being redeemed it is refe

Psalm 41:1-3.

Psalm 41.  Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the  Lord  delivers them in times of trouble. 2 The  Lord  protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land— he does not give them over to the desire of their foes. 3 The  Lord  sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness. The following portion of psalm 41, speaks directly to my heart as a Christian living in a difficult world. My perception of reality can be skewed at times and whenever I read the above three verses of psalm 41, it brings joy to my heart. I have been a born again Christian since my 21 year, where I repented of my sins and received God's free gift of salvation. This great portion of scripture really came alive for me during a time where I was looking for the justice of God, in my world which seemed to be filled with the injustice of men, at the time.  I have struggled with why God allows evil in this world, and I am currently
