How can a country Loose it's freedom.

Notice that I'm not talking about freedoms but freedom. And I hope I'm not preaching to the choir, but I believe that Canada if we are not careful could be heading down the same path the many countries have gone down, and that is the path of the loss of freedom. How does it happen? It happens individually then through the family, then corporately, and the cause of it is sin. Not your sin, but he sin of others. I think you would have a hard time disagreeing that Canada is the Lord's country. In fact the whole world belongs to God, even anti-christian pagan nations...they are the Lord's country. And when God allows a country to go through the process of a free nation to an enslaved nation, he does it to teach his people a lesson, and I don't mean specifically the church (although I do in a sense). Let me explain. When Christ was on earth, the Jews were under Roman oppression. Many of the people who flocked to Jesus did so because they believed the Messiah was going ...

I have been bought by the Blood.

When condemning voices come my way and the man I once was seems to say "you haven't changed", I am reminded that I was not saved to live in a corner, trembling from the accusations of the devil but I have been bought with a price. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6 ESV) When my heart condemns me I turn to the bible. Read with me this passage in Romans, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with th...

Polluted in the inner man.

We can all agree that pride and self love are not qualities that make a person great and this will allow me to tell of my rise and fall in the arts schooling community, (because I never made it to the professional side of things) in an somewhat honest way. You might want to ask the question right now what makes someone narcissistic, and I really think that this quality can be present in a lot of human beings. When I was in theatre school, I had one ambition and one ambition only and that was to become famous. I wouldn't of done anything to reach that goal, but I put myself in a situation where if I didn't succeed there would of been a tremendous amount of making up to do in other area's in my life. I remember a lot of us if not all were narcissistic and we all had that one goal in common..to be noticed. To be noticed for our talent and to achieve something of greatness with the gift that God had given to us all. But something terribly horrible went wrong in my pursuit of ...

Radioactive Telephones?

Hi. You have reached the Fanugarties delicatessen, there is no one to answer your call right now but if you leave a message at the sound of the beep, we'll get back to you as soon as possible. "High, this is George and I'm a Jewish painter and I need to speak to the owner of the house..um sorry business. I received a call that there was work to be done and someone gave me your number. Is there a George that works there? Well um, you can call me back at 555-5555. I'm usually available in the afternoons and would love to refresh the place with a fresh coat of paint. Thanks, bye." Jerry the supervisor receives the message. "George, we got a call from a painter who says he knows you and wants to do some work in our restaurant. What do you say?" George, who is totally unconscious at this point wakes up from his daydream, and slowly walks out the business (never to return). At this point a man walks into the delicatessen. "May I have some hash browns an...

Why dialectical thinking is destroying our minds.

Dialectical thinking has values for education that have been largely overlooked by researchers and educators. Dialectical thinking refers to the ability to view issues from multiple perspectives and to arrive at the most economical and reasonable reconciliation of seemingly contradictory information and postures. Dialectical thinking is a form of analytical reasoning that pursues knowledge and truth as long as there are questions and conflicts. One inhibition to its use is that it can easily be abused--most modern uses of the dialectical paradigm known as the "Socratic Method" essentially are abuses of dialectical thinking. In an explicit teaching model, students are taught, through direct example (and non-example), that seemingly opposing views of reality can be reconciled into a meaning more reasonable than either of the seemingly contradictory positions. Implicit teaching methods include the "ReQuest" procedure, which engages students in loosely structured instr...

The post mordem reasoning and the collective society.

As I type this I am listening to a local radio station and contemplating the meaning of life. As I hear the music of familiar of voices I am reminded of all the different women I have given my life to in my adolescent fantasies as a boy in a man's body. I am reminded that I am not really mentally ill, just deranged in a good way. As thoughts race through my mind I try to voice all the hell and the disappointments that have lead me to believe that I am a girl. I went through this when I was in college, I thought I was gay, but the nice christian people told me that homosexuality was a sin...so I repented and they say that I was forgiven. But as I really think about it and listen to the king of pop, maybe I'm not really a girl after all but a god. A God of sex. People talk about vocation and if I had a christian vocation, I know I would make a good leader, but as Katy Perry has said "then there is that responsibility thing." But then there is that voice that is telling...
