 I am not one normally to complain,  but in the digital age complaining seems to get you nowhere in fact it takes you right off of the boat.  Because we have connected ourselves in a digital manner we seem to want to resolve personal relationship conflicts in the same way.  But because we are not digital people we are real life human beings whenever there is a relationship conflict between two people whether it is a professional conflict or any other kind of conflict our first  instinct is,  i'm going to write about you on Facebook and that should solve all of my problems.  Being that we live in a society where almost everyone now has a voice and that voice can be heard on a social network of at least an average of 100 people,  we should it seems to be getting along quite well in the realm of face-to-face communications with the real life human being.  It seems the more we know about a person when we see them in person we should be able to ...

 I am writing this blog post more for myself than for anyone else it's not that you can't read it but I just want to document what is been happening over the past few weeks in regards to my health.  For some of you who may not know I see a psychiatrist in regards to mental health issues that happened  over 16 years ago.  I have been battling depression since 1999 and other psychiatric illnesses for which I have to take medication for every morning and every night.  This past summer I was asked to submit an article about mental health recovery to the Canadian mental health Association, who is working in conjunction with with a publisher for a book coming out in the spring about mental health and recovery.  I received a phone call earlier this  past year from someone named Neil Howard who informed me that the article that I submitted this past summer was being excepted into a book that is going to be published in the spring.  Lord willing I'm very e...

  Here we are in the second decade of the 21st-century. It just seems like yesterday  that we were celebrating N'SnycThe Backstreet Boys and Christina Auguilera,  not to forget Britney Spears either. The 90s was a transitional period for me in more ways than one,  I discovered meditation  I saw my independence  and the 90s seem to be a year of growing up for myself.  I was attending Trent University as a part-time student  and left before the year started to go to a Hindu monastery in California,  well in all honesty it was part Christian as well I know that might sound a little bit confusing. Recently we had a visitor at our church Harvest Bible Chapel York Region who posed some serious questions about the Bible and the Son of God. In this blog I will try to remember some of the tricky questions and give an apologetic answer for the ones I remember. The first hard question he posed was why did God love Jacob, but hated Esau;  As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” (Romans 9:13).  Have I hated - This does not mean any positive hatred; but that he had preferred Jacob, and had withheld from Esau those privileges and blessings which he had conferred on the posterity of Jacob. This is explained in  Malachi 1:3 ," And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness;" compare  Jeremiah 49:17-18 ;  Ezekiel 35:6 . It was common among the Hebrews to use the terms "love" and "hatred" in this comparative sense, where the former implied strong positive attachment, and the latter, not positive hatred, ...

Most of the time spent on this blog is talking about the postmodern world and how it affects our lives and in particular the way the church is reacting to the modern society. The reason why this interests me is because I have an overall feeling that life is relatively short. I'm not going to babble about how the world has forgotten certain things, but if postmodernity offers us anything it is freedoms with restrictions. I resemble a postmodern bird in the cage who is waiting to sore in freedom. The doctrine of my life thus far has been, do what you want and leave the rest to God. But there is a soreness in our society right now. It is kind of like a bruise that is not healing on its own! Looking back on the tradition of the church, A church that has created many saints and more sinners in recent times. This morning I woke up rather early, and decided to attend a Catholic mass. The word mass can have somewhat of a depressing impression, but what the mass represents is something that can be looked at as significant. When Jesus died on the cross over 2000 years ago, his sacrifice on the cross is what is celebrated in the Catholic mass. It's not that Jesus is dying again in a symbolic way, it's an unbloodied way to memorialize the sacrifice for our sins. Although I attend a nondenominational church, I like the concept of the mass although I am quite aware that there are differences in doctrine in regards to the full atonement of Jesus Christ. The word mass conjures up dark and gloomy clouds for me, why in the world would you want to celebrate the death of Jesus Christ? We do it on good Friday but why do the Catholics do it all year around every day?
