Fear of Judgement Day Should lead you to Repentance.

As Christians in the 21st century, we are told not to judge. Some even have quoted our own Bible to us, “Judge not, lest ye be judged” (Matthew 7:1-3). But what is this fear that is motivating sinners to pronounce their own judgment upon those who take the Bible seriously? I believe it’s their own fear of standing before a holy God themselves and being ultimately accountable for their own sins and rejection of Jesus Christ after they die! For the Christian our judge will be our Saviour, so we don’t fear going to hell precisely because we have trusted in him, and we are forgiven, but for those who haven’t entrusted their lives to Jesus Christ, they have everything to fear because the God they have rejected will ultimately condemn them, unless they truly repent before they die.  Not wanting to be judged in this life would make our particular judgment after death extremely terrifying. Some people who think like this have an extremely distorted view of the Bible and Christian theology. T

The Importance of Forgiveness.

Christianity isn’t just a religion about having your sins forgiven, it is also is a religion about forgiving others. Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.” Forgiveness demonstrates the heart of God. When we are forgiven by God, we must forgive others from our hearts. When we fail to do this we are not forgiven ourselves. Jesus Christ died for our sins, but we must be willing to obey God and be like Jesus if we want to go to Heaven. Salvation is free, but we don’t get a free ride. Just because we are saved by grace, this doesn’t give us a license to sin, and unforgiveness is sin.   To demonstrate that we ourselves are forgiven we have to conform ourselves into the image of Christ’s character, read Romans 8:29, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstbo

What is Christian Death?

To be absent from the body (death) is to be present with the Lord! (2 Corinthians 5:8). Christians believe that when we die believing in Christ that when we die we enter God’s Presence. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, he was dying for the sins of humanity. Anyone who puts their trust in Jesus Christ on this earth and lives with this faith up until their death, won’t suffer eternal death after they die (hell). The bible doesn’t give us details about heaven, but we are promised that our souls will experience joy and bliss while we are there. Every Christian who is now in heaven is also awaiting the resurrection of the dead.   When someone dies physically they enter eternity. There will be a time when Jesus Christ will come back to this earth, and when he does, he will bring with him all the Christians who have died, (1 Thessalonians 4:14). It is our faith that prepares us for heaven, the Bible says that without faith it’s impossible to please God, (Hebrews 11:6). Christian death i

What is Spiritual Blindness?

One of the main messages of the Gospel is love. The biblical concept of love has been corrupted in the past several years by secular society. They have turned the idea of love more into lust and promote a form of self-love that is incompatible with the bible. Why is the idea of love so strong in the Bible! The answer is obvious. In 1 John 4:8 the bible says that God is love. Notice that it doesn’t say that God expresses love, or that God thinks about love, no, it says that one of God’s main attributes is love! It’s love that makes God who he is.   As humans we talk a lot about love, but I can guarantee you that there has been no other perfect human love other than Jesus Christ. This is one of the reasons why we need a Saviour. We can’t love perfectly, however the bible does tell us to love one another, and the Holy Spirit helps us to do just that, (Romans 5:5). So what is Spiritual blindness? It happens when humans fail to love, and misinterpret love. Unless we are redeemed, our natu

A New Paradigm for Community Development.

Many people worldwide are wondering why there is so much financial insecurity in the world? Could it be that leaders in our society have prioritized wrongly in developing modern nations? The world paradigm for communities worldwide has been growth and development. The problem is that they have failed to consider the poor, the disabled and the elderly in their planning. The goal of modern leaders is the mega city. There is absolutely no humanitarian planning to help the poor, and this is why the world is suffering right now. God cares for the poor, the elderly and the disabled but modern growth tends to push these people away, and only caters to the rich. The reason why the world is suffering right now is because of poor planning by our leaders, who see these groups with scorn and tend to only do things that grow and develop their nations. We cannot live in a just society if we neglect the needs of the poor, and true growth considers the lives of all people, not just the super rich. Gr

Why Unbelief?

Read these passages from the book of Romans, “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,  19  since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  20  For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21  For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.  22  Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools  23  and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.” (Romans 1:18-23.) The bible teaches us that there is a God, but by our own sin or wickedness we suppress this very fact. While it is true that Jesus is

How the Prodigal Son Teaches Us God’s true heart about Reconciliation.

The bible is not just a book about forgiveness but it is also about reconciliation as well. It teaches us how to be reconciled to God and it gives us instructions about how to be reconciled to others. In Matthew 5:23-24 the bible says:   23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,   24 leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.   Another example of reconciliation is found in the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). In this story the younger son asks for his share in his father’s inheritance, while his father is still alive, in order to travel to a distant country. While he is there, he spends all the money on loose living and partying. He becomes destitute and reasons with himself that if he returns to his father’s house, he would be provided for and wouldn’t starve to death. The bible says he came to his senses, which means he repented. H

When Our Faith is Weak.

Sometimes our faith gets tested in life but we don’t have to see these tests as being evil. How we respond to the test is very important because if we feel our faith isn’t strong enough, we might want to give up. The Bible teaches us that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says “There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” Although this is referring to temptation, it can also refer to the tests and trials that we all face in life! With God’s help through our faith, we can face whatever life sends our way. When we don’t know the answer to something, we don’t need to close our eyes in shame, we need to learn to trust God by faith. The Bible actually teaches that we are justified by our faith, Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore, since we have been justif

Free will and Man’s Moral Culpability.

Man has complete free will. God doesn’t restrict man’s free will. If the Lord suspended or controlled man’s free will at any point, mankind would no longer be fully responsible for their sins. In this case God would have had an active role in conditioning our choices. It would also eliminate the punishment and existence of Hell because mankind could say to God that they weren’t totally responsible for their choices.   In Christ man submits their will to the will of the Creator, and obeys and follows the will of God through the Holy Spirit’s help. At any time, a man in Christ can take up their free will again and choose not to follow the will of God. This is why Heaven is a reward for the souls in Christ, who surrendered their will to the Saviour right until the end.  In Heaven the sinner’s will is actualized or ratified where they can no longer take up their free will ever again to choose to follow Satan. In the same way the Angels choice to follow God was actualized after the fall o

What Keeps you out of God’s Presence?

Some might say if God is omnipresent then we can never be out of His Presence? If this is true, then God never leaves us! We don’t experience God’s omnipresence because it is an attribute of God, and we are not God, but we do experience his real presence or manifest presence. God is holy, and in order for humanity to live in the presence of God, we must be on the path of salvation! Anyone claiming to know God, must be on the path of holiness or sanctification, for their is no other way to experience His love and presence besides this. God will not come to you if you are living in sin or promoting it. You will constantly doubt the existence of God, no matter how many religious exercises you do, if you are not actually living a holy life. I like to tell a joke about this. “Did you hear of the church congregation that panicked and fled out of their church? It was because God actually showed up there!” Unfortunately this is a reality for a lot of professing Christians. They actually don’

Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.

To seek something implies that you are giving importance to that thing. We naturally seek things that will benefit us, things that will improve our lives. What we seek or seek first can give a clear indication of what we prioritize in life. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” Jesus wasn’t just saying nice words to make us feel better, He was setting forth a strong and sincere Kingdom principle that we as his followers are to put into practice. Jesus wasn’t laying down a hard law for his followers, he was showing us what he expects of his disciples. What we prioritize clearly defines who we are. Jesus said to seek the kingdom, and his righteousness, what did he mean by that? When we seek his kingdom we seek the things that advance God’s kingdom. We seek his kingdom first, it has to be first priority in order for us to eventually receive the other things, or these things that many of us seek f

Why are People Forgetting God?

In Romans chapter 1:18 it says; “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” It is because of people’s sin that they suppress the truth about God. In verses 19 and 20 it says; “since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  20  For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” When people sin and choose not to repent, not only do they stop believing in the Lord, but they are left with no excuse for their error. The Bible says that God is made plain to them, through the creation and through their conscience, God is revealed.   Verses 21-23 says; “ For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were

What is the Sabbath Day?

In history religion has taught that God created the world in six days, and on the seventh day God rested from His work. In the Ten Commandments God originally told the Israelites to rest on the seventh day, because God rested from His work on that day. Throughout time, mankind has chosen to honour God’s word by resting on the seventh day. What we need to understand is that the Sabbath day is not forced rest. Jesus said in the New Testament, Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27) What Jesus was saying is that God created the day of rest for man. It was His way of Blessing mankind for the work that we do during the week. God wants mankind to take one day a week, traditionally it was Sunday, and to go to church.   God knows this life is hard, so He ordained one day a week that we should rest. For some it can be a Saturday, but the principle exists, not to make us lazy, but to change the rhythm of our lives, so that we don’t forget God.

What is the Antinomian Heresy?

While this heresy takes shape in church history, there are modern versions of it in our time. Antinomianism is the belief in “no law”. More specifically it’s no belief in a divine or moral law. While in Christianity we believe that we are not under the Old Law, divine and moral laws still exists and should be obeyed. God’s nature hasn’t changed just because we have a New Testament and when people try to say that there is no law, they commit this heresy. As soon as people’s sins brings them to the point that they want to redefine divine laws, spiritually they are in serious trouble. People can become beast-like in their desire to sin, and I personally believe we can cause serious problems in nature when you tamper with the divine laws. What are divine laws? These are laws that God uses to govern people and the universe. Some are natural laws and some are moral laws. When we break these laws, there are consequences that naturally follow, like when we break an arm or a leg. We begin to

Is God Sovereign over Nature?

God is sovereign over nature and the forces of nature. In His Providence He either causes or allows natural disasters, calamities, earthquakes, viruses, and so forth which means that in God’s Providence He is in full control over what He sends or allows! God’s all-governing will doesn’t just have an awareness of when things live and die, they don’t do so without His knowledge and consent. God governs our lives and our deaths, and His governance over Creation and our lives are intended for us to give Him thanks and praise through our rejoicing! (Romans 1:20-21, Psalms 104:31, 33-34) At our redemption this current Natural created world will give us mercy without pain. The mysteries of this our natural world, are to stop our mouths and to cause us to be in awe of God. For He is merciful and compassionate. (James 5:11)   Just because the Lord in His Providence is sovereign over nature, which includes our lives and our deaths, doesn’t mean that we sit back and do nothing. God has made us

Why We Can’t Rest.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.  9  Six days you shall labor and do all your work,  10  but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.  11  For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Exodus 20:8-11. While there is no law in the New Testament to keep the Sabbath day, the principal is still a teaching of the New Testament. Hebrews 4:11-13 reads:    11 “ Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.  12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Churches Should have the Right of Self-Determination.

We are living in a time of restrictions. Many people feel that their rights are being infringed upon. There are medical rights, and the rights of religious freedoms that come to my mind, in the mist of a global pandemic. Places of worship have guaranteed that people can still practice their faith, while at the same time guaranteeing the government that they will obey pandemic safety restrictions and public health measures. Many places of worship have had to restrict their congregations and some have had to close down permanently because of the restrictions.   Like many small businesses that couldn’t stay afloat because of lockdowns and restrictions, many people of faith have had to stop attending religious services because they are considered a “gathering” by some, who are opposed to people of faith “gathering” because of fear of contacting or passing on COVID-19 or one of it’s variants. Many people of faith have stopped attending church or other places of worship, because they live

The Wrath of God.

If we forsake God, He will forsake us. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,  19  since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  20  For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. The bible goes on to say that although they could know God, they chose not to know Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. God pours his wrath upon humanity when He clearly says that He can be known, but we choose to suppress that knowledge and truth, and live our lives like He doesn’t exist. God gave us life, and we will never be happy until we choose to believe in the Lord. People think they are smarter than God, and we feel that we don’t need our Creator. We put our ne
