When light becomes darkness.

The bible says that the entrance of the word of God gives light, but what if that light is shunned and rejected..where does that leave the righteous. The Holocaust was a very dark period in human history, so was the great world wars and any time of war for that matter. The church of Jesus Christ has always been a source of healing and comfort during these times of darkness and I believe we are in a time in world history where the light of the gospel is dispelling darkness in human hearts craving the truth. There is no need to curse at the darkness even though I will try, because it is the darkness in a human heart that created societies where God rejected and evil goes unchecked. We are living in a time period where evil is flourishing and the forces of light that are trying to put back this evil are being tried and drained by the Gross God haters who are blind now to human suffering. I am saying this because my fight against evil has become personal at best. I have considered how to defeat this evil, and we will overcome evil by good as the bible teaches us. But what if that good is rejected? Then we will continue to reveal evil and evil people until the light of truth shines on their blackness and the light of God renews our world.

They used to say that communism was the greatest evil in our society and I remember when Russia became a democracy, but it seems now that it is a democracy the world has called on Russia to back off from what they are doing and have isolated them from the rest of the world almost as if they were once again a communist country. I am not saying that what is happening is right, in fact it is very difficult to understand why the president of Russia has appeared to turn on the rest of the world just after hosting the world in the 2014 Winter Olympics, I'm still wearing the sweater. The revolution in the Ukraine was just that, a revolution. The people rising up to gain a sense of freedom, but if we remember history, when was true freedom ever gained by any revolution?

Look at what happened in the middle east. Oppression from political leaders is not fun and anyone abusing their power should be resisted non violently as Gandhi taught. Ahimsa, do no violence. Gandhi set an entire nation free from the tyranny of the British by non violent peaceful non resistance and this takes more courage than the 21st century revolutionaries who are bent on getting their way with out sacrificing themselves peacefully. The bible tells us not to resist a evil man. True warriors of peace have always known this. Revolution costs you your life but ahimsa will shame them and give you your freedom. True freedom fighters like Gandhi and mother Teresa fought this battle with prayer and with peace until their enemies were shamed into submission. Jesus said "He who lives by the sword will die by the sword." You never fight violence with violence because you who are trying to beat the oppressor with the sword will perish by your own hands. Non violence is and has always been the way but the 21st century revolutionaries either never knew this or only knew this in theory and have lost the battle already because a God of love and a God of peace will never ordain victory at the oppressors hand by violence. Ahimsa.

They will not wake up because they lack the self control and the religious zeal to conquer through peace what all peace makers have done throughout the centuries, as the beatitude says, "Blessed are the peacemakers they will be called children of God."

Catholic Identity.

I was born into the Catholic Church and was baptized as an infant, I had my first communion and reconciliation as a child, and was confirmed as a teenager. Although I was never devout, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour when I was 21 through an evangelical Christian radio ministry, which in turn gave new life to my Catholic faith. Although I remained a Catholic, I identified as a born again Christian. It wasn’t until much later in my life that I learned the difference between the two denominations and what they taught about being born again. Regardless, there was a significant change in my life back then, which continues to this day. Being Catholic is much like an identity to me and I remember growing up under the papacy of St. Pope John Paul II. The culture I grew up in was largely affected by his papacy, and the way the culture viewed the church was significantly different from the way the current culture views it. Growing up, the pope didn’t try to be rele...

Age of Brokenness.

We are living in an age of brokenness, no matter what age you are, you probably have been touched with relationships falling apart, which causes more and more people to live in isolation. In this generation there is less of an incentive to heal and reconcile relationships, but that doesn’t excuse the amount of people who are broken. Why people don’t seem to be motivated to heal relationships is because our beliefs about faith and God have changed, really giving us less of an incentive to do what our religion says. If I act from my personal beliefs, but the person that I am responding to has abandoned religious beliefs, than the response to my wanting things to be better can be misinterpreted and rejected then by someone else. Generally when a society has expectations about broken relationships, loneliness and isolation, and the beliefs are generally accepted, society becomes a more compassionate society, because all value the same things. When religious values are undermined and ...

The Biblical Meaning of “Life in the Spirit.”

“Life in the Spirit” is an example that the Apostle Paul gives in the book of Romans starting in chapter 5 and going through to chapter 8. He begins by telling us we are justified by faith (5:1), and have gained access by faith into the grace of God (5:2). We have been delivered from God’s wrath (5:9) and we have been reconciled to God through the death of His Son (5:10). He goes on to explain that through Adam all die (5:12), and that the free Gift of God brings justification and righteousness to the believing sinner (5:15-17).   Through our conversion we are baptized into Christ and into his death, which frees us from the law and makes us dead to sin (6:2-4). He explains that just as Christ was raised from the dead, we are given new life in Christ (6:4). Our old unregenerate self was crucified with Christ so that our body of sin might be done away with (6:5-6). Because we have died to sin, we now submit ourselves to God being that we are now under grace, not the law (6:8-1...
