Age of Brokenness.

We are living in an age of brokenness, no matter what age you are, you probably have been touched with relationships falling apart, which causes more and more people to live in isolation. In this generation there is less of an incentive to heal and reconcile relationships, but that doesn’t excuse the amount of people who are broken. Why people don’t seem to be motivated to heal relationships is because our beliefs about faith and God have changed, really giving us less of an incentive to do what our religion says. If I act from my personal beliefs, but the person that I am responding to has abandoned religious beliefs, than the response to my wanting things to be better can be misinterpreted and rejected then by someone else. Generally when a society has expectations about broken relationships, loneliness and isolation, and the beliefs are generally accepted, society becomes a more compassionate society, because all value the same things. When religious values are undermined and ...

The Rejection of God’s Moral Law.

Man is not an intrinsically moral being. When we objectively reject the moral laws of God we are left with no moral standard in which to live and judge our lives and to judge injustice. We do what we think is right in our own lives (Judges 21:25), which results in chaos, injustice, cruelty and rampant sin. When we fail to judge ourselves by looking into the perfect mirror of God’s justice, we have nothing to base right and wrong on, which eventually leads to tragedy and invites God’s judgment into our lives, unless we repent. We weren’t put here on earth on our own despite what evolutionists say. We have a Creator who has revealed to us His moral law, and what we need to do to be blessed by our Creator and to do what is right. As a Christian, the roots of my faith is Judaism, for centuries God revealed His law to His people, the Jews. Whenever His people strayed from God’s ways, God brought judgment to His people to bring them back to Himself. As a Christian, my bible teaches me ...

Suppressing the Truth

The story of Jesus Christ is not a made up story, it’s actually something that took place in history. The bible is more than a historical book, it’s the word of God. In the book of Romans the bible says that God has given us evidences of his existence so that we are without excuse, (Romans 1:19-20). But why do so many discount the message of the bible and live like God doesn’t exist? For the large part, people are willfully ignorant. They may have heard the message of the gospel at one point, but then chose not to believe. What they don’t understand is that God holds them responsible for their unbelief, and one day when they die, they will be judged for it. (Hebrews 9:27). The same applies for those who believed at one point, but no longer believe. Our faith must carry us throughout our lives, and we must actually die with faith, in order to be pleasing to God (Hebrews 11:13). One of the ways people stop believing is that they suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). ...

Restoring the Image of God.

Can you see the picture of a beat up and rusted old motor vehicle or an extremely neglected house? You may ask yourself how something so beautiful became so neglected and uncared for? Did it just get old? Or did the owners just stop caring for their property? If we are not careful our knowledge of the Lord if neglected and not cared for, can become unrecognizable to those we are trying to portray Him too. Accurate knowledge of the Lord is necessary to communicate to others who God is, otherwise the picture we are telling may be an inaccurate picture, and we become liable for not telling the truth, when we know better.   Artificial Intelligence now can create images and video that look so real, and convince you that you are seeing something real, when in fact you are seeing something created by a computer and something not real. The impression you get comes from a false or distorted reality. Our understanding and knowledge of God can be the same. It’s true, that some people a...

Catholic Identity.

I was born into the Catholic Church and was baptized as an infant, I had my first communion and reconciliation as a child, and was confirmed as a teenager. Although I was never devout, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour when I was 21 through an evangelical Christian radio ministry, which in turn gave new life to my Catholic faith. Although I remained a Catholic, I identified as a born again Christian. It wasn’t until much later in my life that I learned the difference between the two denominations and what they taught about being born again. Regardless, there was a significant change in my life back then, which continues to this day. Being Catholic is much like an identity to me and I remember growing up under the papacy of St. Pope John Paul II. The culture I grew up in was largely affected by his papacy, and the way the culture viewed the church was significantly different from the way the current culture views it. Growing up, the pope didn’t try to be rele...

Righteousness.

Christians believe that we are made right with God through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but because we are justified through Christ, does that give us licence to sin and live any way we want? The world has tried to redefine sin, and has actually tried to portray some sins as being virtuous, but there is nothing virtuous about sin. Our position in Christ must reflect our practical application of living out our faith. Doctrine gives us a foundation on how to do this. Church doctrine never changes with the time, because if it did, then the nature of our salvation would change also.   If a church leader tries to redefine sin, or make something acceptable, which goes against long standing church doctrine, then he compromises his own righteousness and the righteousness of others because he is saying that something is true, when in fact it isn’t. We cannot be in right standing with God if we are teaching things contrary to what the bible teaches. Why does our modern cult...

Concept of Love.

The concept of love is diminishing right before our eyes, just as the Bible predicted would happen in the last days because of lawlessness. However many people live in ignorance of their lack of love for humanity. Just as a blind man is unaware visually of his surroundings, sin blinds us to the love that can exist in our hearts, and that longs to be expressed to God and to others. Love is not lust or a selfish reach of power, in order to control and manipulate things and events.   It’s hard for love to flourish or to be nurtured in an environment that has become increasingly selfish and violent, and then love becomes despised in those who have forgotten what it is. Love itself becomes dead in those who have forgotten God. We can’t live in a caring society that glorifies things like death and selfishness, but Jesus Christ predicted that society would lose its way before the second coming, (Matthew 24:12). Awakened love in the soul always gives life, it never takes it away, th...
