The Existence of God

 Since the beginning of time, man has learned about the existence of God. It began in the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve walked and talked with God, however when they sinned, they died spiritually and their closeness with God was severed. In Genesis 4:26 it reads “Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the LORD.” Seth was the third son of Adam and Eve, so it’s fair to say that not too long after mankind fell, we also called upon the Lord. 


From that time until now, mankind was closer to God then, but it’s a modern shift that the world is in the state it is in now, mainly unbelief, because even 30 years ago from now, mankind was closer to God. It is also true that in ancient Israel’s history, there have been generations that fell away and forgot God, but in the time of the prophets Israel was never left without a word from the Lord. Many generations have come and gone, but there have been remarkable generations all throughout history, even after the time of Christ, which we can say were godly generations. In the bible in Psalm 14:5 it says, “There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.” There have been generations throughout history where God manifested himself throughout that generation, unlike others. These are namely the generations of great saints in history, Old and New Testament saints.


If you lived in the generation of a saint, God was present in that generation, and you would notice that there would be a remarkable difference in how that generation lived, namely they lived with God. I believe we are currently living in a wicked generation, and God is not with this generation. Sure, the church exists, and the Holy Spirit lives in this world, but most of this current generation is defined by sin and godlessness, and this generation has forgotten God. Many in this generation may remember the previous generation, but for the most part, many have forgotten.


As history moves further and further away from the time of Jesus Christ, the world can become a more and more dark place, because the closer you are to the cross, even a thousand years away, the reality of Christ living here on planet Earth and dying here is more real. The further you move from this reality, humanity can forget that Jesus Christ actually was here. This leaves you in the predicament that you are in now, that of wickedness and unbelief. There are millions in this generation who question if Jesus Christ actually existed, they are not just questioning his claim to deity, but the fact that he actually existed. This proves my point, the further you move down history, if things aren’t passed on, you can have an entire generation who doesn’t believe in God anymore, or questions His reality. Whereas in previous generations, God lived in a real way with them. 


You can’t really prove the existence of God, but you can look to many generations who lived in relative peace and godliness, and sure enough God was with them. This is Mike.

    I agree completely. Evidence of God is seen in the earth. Just like a painting that was created by an artist or a building that was created by an architect, engineers and builders, our Earth and everything in it is evidence of a Creator, God.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins.

 Matthew 25:1-13 I have discovered a remarkable interpretation of this parable that I would like to share with you.
