11 For the grace of God has appeared, [h]bringing salvation to all people, 12 [i]instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of [j]our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds. (Titus 2:11-14)
The grace that appeared is Jesus Christ. He brought salvation to the world through his sacrifice on the cross, and taught us all to live righteous lives. He said he would come again, so the church waits in hope for the second coming. So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. (Hebrews 9:28) Without reference to sins means that the first time he came, he died for our sins, the second coming will bring salvation to a completeness.
The bible teaches us to hope, we can hope because Jesus died for us, 3 For I handed down to you [a]as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to [b]Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to [c]James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as [d]to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8) After Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to many people. He appeared to Peter, to his twelve apostles, and to more than 500 men and women, who at the time became witnesses of his resurrection.
Before Christ’s death he promised he would come again, 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be. (John 14:3) The reason why we hope is because the bible allows us to. It is God’s word to us, and God cannot lie. (Hebrews 6:18) So we wait for Jesus to return bodily to this earth, that will be a great Day. This is Mike.
