The Church of Jesus Christ is Drifting Away From Holiness.

The church in it's essence is a means for personal sanctification or holiness, that people through the word of God or the bible might be prepared for Heaven and keep the world in check through it's personal witness and holiness. The church of Jesus Christ was never meant to be an unholy place for sinners to continue in their unregenerate and unrepentant selves, it was meant to bring the message of repentance and faith to a lost world. The church in history was meant to shine a light on the injustices in society, alleviate the suffering of the poor and oppressed, and bring salvation through the message of the cross to all those who were oppressed. The gospel or the Kingdom of Heaven (or God) that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ taught was a salvation from our sins, any other message that the church teaches is a false gospel. The purpose for Christianity was not to form communities of people, or to help them find their purpose in life, the purpose of the message and the life of...

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God.

"I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness  come  by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." Galatians 2:21.  I am sure most of you reading this have heard of the term Grace. If you do not come from a Christian country, or a Christian background the term grace is what God uses to save people from their sins, and enter into a life saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is taught to be God in the Christian Holy bible and it is a person's belief and faith in Jesus, that makes that person saved. The bible teaches that grace was present in the old testament as well as the new, but it is faith in the sacrificial death on a cross by Jesus Christ that makes me able to say that God forgave my sins. The reason why I wanted to write about grace, is because there is a lot of wrong emphasis on what the human being contributes to their eternal salvation and reconciliation to Almighty God. Part of the confusion in the 21st Century is a wrong idea about how ...

The Vulnerability of the Disabled.

Times have changed and we are truly living in a world that has less compassion. The purpose of this blog is not to stigmatize those of us who are going through an enormous amount of stigmatization already, but to bring more awareness and compassion to those who like me want to see the vulnerable in our society more protected and treated with more human dignity. I work with an organization that treats disabled people with compassion and dignity, but people like me get tired and fed up with an attitude that the vulnerable cannot help themselves. There is nothing in this world that people don't like feeling more than feeing helpless and without hope. When people go through mental health problems and other disabilities, they learn to lean on others who are stronger than they are to help and provide for them the things that they are unable to provide for themselves.   Being dependant on others is not something that we want naturally as human beings, but those of us who are faced with a...

The Importance of Actually knowing What the Word of God means.

There is not a limited amount of bible teaching out there right now. You can find all kinds of teachers, all kinds of messages but it is up to you now to filter what the teachings are actually saying, and that takes a basic knowledge of the Bible or the "Word of God." The most important message in the bible is how one can have their sins forgiven, clearly a message that is being overlooked in the 21st century. You will find all kinds of messages on how to overcome the problems in your life, even though the bible does talk about overcoming difficulties in life, that is not the central message of the old and new testaments found in the bible. If you are Jewish the old testament looks forwards to the coming time when the Messiah will come, if you are Christian the new testament explains that Jesus Christ is the Messiah that the Jewish People are waiting for. The new testament teaches that both Jew and Gentile can have their sins forgiven by placing their faith in and believing i...

God's Blessing is more than Just Money and Possessions.

What is the blessing of God? Common Christian sense tells me that it is the salvation that God provides for the entire human race through the life and death of Jesus the Lord. Christianity today tells about the abundant life, and telling of this life they stress that if you are poor as a Christian that God's blessing is not on you! There is a kind of mockery these days between rich Christians and poor persecuted Christians, which is causing a monetary and societal division between the body of Christ of those who are rich and those who are poor. Rich Christians are not sharing their wealth with the poorer brothers and sisters in the Lord while they talk about their new testament Churches there is great wealth that is being horded. I am not upset at my brothers and sisters who are not sharing their wealth, because the bible tells me that if I am poor I am blessed by God, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:3 NIV) There is a sto...

In Support of Pope Francis.

It took me by surprise when I read that there are going to be changes to the Catholic Catechism in regards to our teaching on the death penalty. I remembered back to 1999 as I watched on the news back then of a person who was being murdered for a crime was publicly broadcast. Up until that point in my life, I had never witness someone being condemned so openly and I was upset at our world for not promoting the culture of life, that the Catholic Church was and still is fighting for. Back to now and our present world of hyper connectivity and open discussion of almost anything, the culture of death is everywhere. It finally took three popes to help change things in my church. I am so happy that the Catholic Church is fighting for the abolition of the death penalty worldwide. Unlike the evangelical church, the Catholic Church is changing it's dogma not necessarily to keep up with the times but to bring more life into our already death saturated culture. Never before has there been a...
