How I found God.

I have heard that it has been said that we don't find God, He finds us. But when I found God I felt like I was being set free from a life of pain and sin, and entering eternal life. In fact the bible says in 1 John 5:13 " I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." The bible teaches in John 3:16 "God so loved the world, that He sent His Only Begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" Eternal life or forgiveness consists in having faith and believing what Jesus did for you and me on the cross. In Romans 4:22-25 NIV it says "T his is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for

What is Suffering?

It hurts is what most of us say when we are in pain. I don't want to glorify suffering, because most of us try for our whole lives to avoid it, but what can be gained by suffering is wisdom and redemption. I believe that God came to this earth in the person of the Son Jesus Christ, and suffered more than any human being will suffer this side of eternity. God's suffering was redemptive meaning that he redeemed mankind through his suffering and death. Jesus allows humans to participate in the suffering that he endured for our forgiveness, so that we too can help make our suffering redemptive. There is nothing that we can add to our own suffering, in that united with Jesus we can participate in the Divine Mystery of salvation. It is through our faith that we are justified in Christ, and it is also through our suffering that we are united in a death like his, Romans 6:5 NIV " For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him i

Saying Goodbye to Saverio.

At this time, I am praying that words don't fail me because I have a lot on my mind and I want to communicate to my readers the urgency that I feel in my heart for compassion for the dying. We live in a different world right now, it's definitely not the world that I grew up in as I say goodbye to my 83 year old uncle who just passed away. I am afraid if I don't communicate properly, I will fail to get the message across that dying in this country can be a terribly frightening thing for our most vulnerable. In most cases, we don't get to choose the way we are going to die. Sometimes this is chosen for us, if we are really sick and haven't made plans. The bible teaches that there is beauty and grace in life, and in death. I have grown up in a world that taught me that death shouldn't be something to be feared, as a Christian I am taught that it is appointed for man to die once then after that comes the particular Judgement by God. Catholics believe that there migh

The Fall of Lucifer.

Lucifer was an angel who lived in the presence of God. The Bible teaches that he was created perfect, but because of sin, or pride he was permanently removed from the presence of God or Heaven. In Isaiah 14:12-17 it reads " How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, "I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. 16 Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: "Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, 17 the man who made the world a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?" Satan's sin was a

Why it is Bad to Live with Unresolved Issues in Your Life.

Things that are unresolved in your life right now many be the things that you have tried to change the most. When people don't care anymore about the sin in their lives, and choose instead to live in open rebellion about what tradition and the bible taught in the past we all get the world we are living in now, which is an evil world. The world in it's essence is good, but when there are more and more people rejecting the principals of the bible and choosing to live their lives their way, (not God's Way) not only will they be shut out from the presence of God when they die, (Hell) but they are causing for themselves untold miseries now in this life. People these days don't like to believe in hell, because not many people talk about it any more. When I was growing up hell was a reality in our world. People feared God, and they feared the consequences of their sin. You would make an effort to not sin, because we all knew there was a real hell after you die and none wante
