The church of the 21st-century.

I am wondering right now if the church has lost its power. By that I mean it's testimony. Has slow erosion of the truth in our society affected well-meaning churches and Christians as a whole? I would have to say the answer to this question is yes. Christians aren't out denying the Lord through their actions, but inwardly because of well meaning people, The church in Canada is slowly losing its testimony. I am free to say this because as someone who believes that even a greater time of persecution is coming, maybe not to this country, but the slow erosion of freedom of speech in the public arena, has led to congregations filled with unbelievers. Can one single person's testimony make a lasting difference on the entire culture? The answer five years ago would have been yes and I still think that we still have the power, although it is limited, The persecution that one can experience as a result of speaking the truth now as compared to five years ago is almost at a tipping point. Do we just shrug our shoulders and deny the Lord or do we continue proclaiming the truth even though the church has lost its power. The Lord promised us that the gates of Hades would not prevail against the church, but my proposal in this essay is that the gate of Hades has entered into the church.

We live in a time of corruption and falsehood, and yes the true church of Jesus Christ which is the universal church of all born-again believers, Will always prevail and overcome in the end even if it means our death. But should we as born-again Christians take ourselves out of the picture even when the church has corrupted itself? One at this point but have to argue and say that the church that I go to is not unusual so how can you speak in this way? I can because I'm talking about the testimony of the church in general. In an army you have a leader the head of the church is Jesus Christ if the head of the church is no longer head of the church then the church has lost its testimony. The book of Revelation speaks about this a powerless church is a church that has lost its testimony. We were warned years ago by Pundits and popular people that the church in Canada would resemble the church in Europe I think we are there. Does this mean the end of religion of course not? Christianity as a religion right now is flourishing  in Canada. More and more people are choosing to worship in a Christian context. But does this mean that they are truly saved it on their way to heaven? My answer is no? Again I have to refer to the testimony of Jesus Christ and the testimony that the church represents.

The message of Christianity is simply a message if not applied to the human heart. Even when applied if not Applied properly can send a person to eternal condemnation. The testimony of the churches in Canada has changed. If the testimony of the church cannot save you which in essence is the whole meaning of having a church, then the church fails to be what Christ really wanted to be and loses its power.  There is nothing wrong with an act of worship the Christ doesn't call us to acts of worship. He doesn't even call us to salvation if we don't heed his voice. And this is the voice of the testimony of Jesus Christ that you become born again and receive the Holy Spirit. This in essence is what we've lost in all of our churches.

Yes the church will continue to function as a church but in order to resist the anti-God movements in this culture it should have from the start persevered through persecution which can only be done through the Holy Spirit and the testimony of Jesus Christ. When you deny the Lord Jesus Christ you are denying the testimony that he sent and that testimony is his son. Even through persecution you can hold onto your testimony and not deny Jesus Christ the Lord. No one can force you to forfeit your salvation, it's not a matter of willpower but Of faith. The testimony of Jesus Christ still stands today in my life and in yours if you are truly born-again, not because of what anything you have done but because you initially received the testimony of the son of God and choosing to receive that testimony you have held strong in the faith and persevered through persecution. The Lord promises that he will he will reward those who persevere which you have done. Blessed be the name of the Lord in whom there is salvation for all those willing to come to him. He has kept his promise to you.

But woe to those who fail to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ. This is Mike.

Some Bible Verses on Money.

Bible verses about money. I bet you didn’t think the bible said that? Proverbs 23:5 When you glance at wealth, it disappears, for it makes wings for itself and flies like an eagle to the sky.  1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. Proverbs 13:11 Wealth quickly gained is quickly wasted — easy come, easy go! But if you gradually gain wealth, you will watch it grow. Psalm 62:10 Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the centre of your life. Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again. Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storeho...

My Story.

In 1999 I suffered a mental health crisis and admitted myself into the hospital where I live, in which I was given a mental health diagnosis. I didn’t want to receive medication at the time, but unwillingly accepted it. I was in the hospital for about two months, when I asked my doctor if I could go home, and he said yes, even though he thought it would have been better if I stayed longer.   I was glad to be home though, but at 25, it took some adjusting to feel truly at home. One of the problems I was having at home was it was hard for me to eat the food in the house. I was having a psychosis where I felt the food wasn’t mine, and I literally had to go out to eat, or buy bread from the supermarket and take it home to eat it. Eventually this wore off, but I don’t remember how long.  I was now on ODSP and had a check come to me every month in order to have financial support. I would occasionally have a crisis, and ask my mom to drive me to the hospital, but eventually th...

Why has the church lost its capacity and power?

The church has modernized itself and in the process has lost something very valuable. It has lost its capacity to be personable. The way we reach lost souls is by seeing them, by getting to know them, and by recognizing them, but people are getting lost in the church. The church has become a busy place and is also becoming a less holy place. To make disciples we have to get to know people, and technology in the church is depersonalizing souls, and depersonalizing God for them. Faith becomes a marketable commodity, whereas in the past, churches and their leaders nourished and valued personal faith. While faith is still valued, it’s becoming something that is marketable, which reminds me of the story of Jesus in the temple turning over tables (Matthew 21:12-17). The problem isn’t that the church doesn’t work or doesn’t want to share the gospel, it could be how we are doing it. The church is currently being run like a business, and each Christian metaphorically speaking has a profit...
