Enter the Light, Dad's dirty tricks.

Most of us have fathers right, some have been good some have been bad. But as a forty year old man still living at home with no reason, I feel no reason to censor myself. This trick has been tried on good people, good people with a voice of reason. With a voice of conscience and that is what I am about to do..I'm going to be your conscience for the next ten minutes. How will I do that? First I will remind you that you are not right. If you can accept that then we can move on, if you cannot them shame on you. I want to talk about free speech, not freedom of religion, but free speech. When did you last hear those words, if it has been more than a year then you are lost within yourself..pity you. You don't get freedom of speech in a vacuum and if you think we have lost this constitutional right you are mistaken, we are still a free society. So long as we live in a free society there will be plenty of room for light, but ya I know you don't like the light, in your perverseness

The paper is more patient, than people.

Relatively speaking I am doing OK. How are you? I hope you haven't forgotten that we are in December right now and an other year will be ending soon. With things slowly coming to an end I guess it's safe to look back now and let go of all the things that you went through this year and say, good ridden...I know you'll be back next year! The 2 words that defined this year were hope, love and forgiveness (sorry three). I don't know what you went through this year and I know that it is not over yet, but it is closing. I hope you were kind to those people that truly showed you love this year, and I know that it is not too late or inappropriate to say that you love them before the year ends..forever. One of the things God has been teaching me this year and I hope He taught you something this year, is forgiveness and patience. I always thought that I was a forgiving person and I would say that I am, but I was challenged this year by the ones that I would call my enemies to

My friend Anne.

There is a lot to say about my friend Anne. I would like you to get to know her. Anne and I became friends when she started working for my dad's car and truck rentals and leasing business. I would look forward to those times of the day, when we would catch a smile and make jokes but I knew Anne long before we worked together. Anne and family grew up with our family and I don't remember a time when they were completely out of our lives. I saw her children grow up, in fact we grew up together. We have found memories of when both our families drove down to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and the Fraze "Evening all, it Connie's fault became very popular" referring to something private. The reason why I have fond memories of working with Anne despite the fact that our families were life long friends, was because it was in my early 20's that my life had changed as I had become a born again Christian. I never really talked about my faith at work and because An

Unkempt Hair and the servitude of others.

We all know when it is time for our monthly hair cut, and that time comes sooner than later for most of us. But our souls can be like that person on the street corner, who hasn't had a good wash in along time and is quite content (so he thinks) to be wallowing in his mire as he has returned to the filth that the Saviour Saved him from. I started singing again. It was a bit of a challenge at first, I thought that years of smoking would of ruined my vocal chords, but to my surprise they were just fine. The voice is a little bit like a atrophied muscle that hasn't been used in a long time, and we can forget what it was like being in the presence of an almighty God if we have let our spiritual lives atrophy. However in this case it can and is a little more dangerous. If you are an all and all out sinner, then your requirement is for repentance but disqualifying yourself from that I would assume you might want to be interested in a nice couple of shots of espresso and a friendly t

The cost of immorality.

I liked to say that Satan was the great moralist, because just what is immorality anyway. There is a buzz in the air and it is speaking, it goes something like this: Do you want to be free? Do you want to have your own way in life? It only comes around once a year. It doesn't have any instructions, in fact if you buy it, it will be yours forever! Come one come all and see the man with no eyes! He's as blind as a bat, yet he can tell the difference from right and wrong! Surely in your darkest dreams you have seen this man. He is in the corners of your living room, he is under your bed. When you turn the lights out he is in your fridge! He has green eyes and no tongue, he is called human being. In your humanness have you ever wondered what God thinks about certain things? Do you see Him as some evasive force, living in the clouds somewhere, but not right next to you? Joan Osborne said "What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us, just a stranger on the bus, trying

The requium.

There is an old saying, "If you do not have anything good to say, don't say anything at all." I really don't know how wise this saying is, because I would say that 90% of our communication is just that.(Communication) We are people who feel the need to share, we share with one another because we love one another. If we didn't love each other, we wouldn't feel guilty when we hide the truth, because I firmly believe in humanity, and despite our lack of love to one another with some it is hatred for those made in the image of God. For when we have come to hate one another, we have lost the purpose for this existence. Not everyone believes in God, and those who deny his existence, deny their purpose for their creation. Hell was created not to scare people into being good, though it does that. Hell was created because God knew that we would make mistakes, and those mistakes are called sin and sin separates us or removes us from the light of truth, Jesus Himself. He

The whole story.

How would you like to live in a world where nothing is true, just one crisis after another, like being on a roller coaster that never ends. Welcome to the 21st century. Those of us who are getting older and are approaching our mid-life wonder if anything is going to change in our lives and in this world. Is this the world you dreamt you would live in when you were a kid. It seems that when you approach mid life the stress of other peoples problem lives seem to get in the way of you ever finding your way back to any sense of normalcy, which is where most of us generation Xers are right now. We are fighting for our bread and butter and it seems like with the economic crisis that is rarely talked about anymore is lost forgotten on the younger generation, who still just want to have fun. But those of us who have had our fun just want to live a peaceful life but it seems that life has gotten in the way for most of us and we are so busy supporting that other person that one day at a time

Can you just say what you mean?

I have never been the kind of man to brood over the faults and missteps of others, but I must take inspiration from my own life and the many mistakes I have made and have yet to fix. I would say that there are many times I avoid conflict just because I think my opinions don't matter when in fact they do matter, they matter quite a lot. But more so than my opinion I like to turn to the bible to resolve some deep weeds in my thinking right now and I would like to replace them with biblical truth before I close my eyes and go to sleep tonight. I used to think that all problems were solvable until I started encountering things (thinking patterns) that were very destructive and hard to replace. I think at the heart of all our problems is the way we choose to think about things. Thinking is a choice and what we choose to think about determines the course of your life. The concept of psychiatry is to change the way a person thinks about their problems and if you are up for it I would

As were the days of Noah.

I want to start off this blog with a bible verse for when you loose sight of the bible you loose light. Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other

I will tell all Your Secrets.

What lies at the heat of a secret? I t is usually shame at those who are revealing them and those who find them out! Is there such a thing a secret tellers and if you are a person of faith, should you be revealing secret things to your brothers and sisters in the Lord if you are a Christian? Before I answer those questions, I want to talk about sin, because that is what a secret hides. In Romans the bible talks about people suppressing the truth because of their unrighteousness, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not Honor him as God or give thank

God's Presence removed from the land, but not from our hearts.

Christians know that Jesus is Lord, but he also is a King. He waits outside this land waiting for the foreordained time to return here to rightfully claim what is his. I want to say that he already owns it, you and me and the souls of men but he will not impose his will upon anyone not willing to have Him as King, and that's why he is here and that's why he has come. “Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a wine press in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went into another country. 34 When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants c to the tenants to get his fruit. 35 And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them. 37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is t

The sinners prayer is biblical.

Let us read together Romans chapter 10, Brothers, a my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. b The Message of Salvation to All 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “ The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lo

Salvation is a Free Gift.

I want to start this blog by referring to a scripture in Romans, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10) In Roman Catholicism catholics believe that grace is not a free gift, but something that must
