What is the Antinomian Heresy?

While this heresy takes shape in church history, there are modern versions of it in our time. Antinomianism is the belief in “no law”. More specifically it’s no belief in a divine or moral law. While in Christianity we believe that we are not under the Old Law, divine and moral laws still exists and should be obeyed. God’s nature hasn’t changed just because we have a New Testament and when people try to say that there is no law, they commit this heresy. As soon as people’s sins brings them to the point that they want to redefine divine laws, spiritually they are in serious trouble. People can become beast-like in their desire to sin, and I personally believe we can cause serious problems in nature when you tamper with the divine laws. What are divine laws? These are laws that God uses to govern people and the universe. Some are natural laws and some are moral laws. When we break these laws, there are consequences that naturally follow, like when we break an arm or a leg. We begin to

Is God Sovereign over Nature?

God is sovereign over nature and the forces of nature. In His Providence He either causes or allows natural disasters, calamities, earthquakes, viruses, and so forth which means that in God’s Providence He is in full control over what He sends or allows! God’s all-governing will doesn’t just have an awareness of when things live and die, they don’t do so without His knowledge and consent. God governs our lives and our deaths, and His governance over Creation and our lives are intended for us to give Him thanks and praise through our rejoicing! (Romans 1:20-21, Psalms 104:31, 33-34) At our redemption this current Natural created world will give us mercy without pain. The mysteries of this our natural world, are to stop our mouths and to cause us to be in awe of God. For He is merciful and compassionate. (James 5:11)   Just because the Lord in His Providence is sovereign over nature, which includes our lives and our deaths, doesn’t mean that we sit back and do nothing. God has made us

Why We Can’t Rest.

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.  9  Six days you shall labor and do all your work,  10  but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.  11  For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Exodus 20:8-11. While there is no law in the New Testament to keep the Sabbath day, the principal is still a teaching of the New Testament. Hebrews 4:11-13 reads:    11 “ Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.  12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
